ADVERSITY
“When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it.” – Henry Ford
Difficulty is where strength develops and resilience is discovered. You are never quite sure how well you will hold up or how strong you are until the storms of adversity blow against your house. That’s the moment of truth. That’s when you learn whether or not you have built upon a solid foundation.
This past year and half has I’ve learned a lot about myself and about others. We all have. We’ve lost loved ones, lost businesses, lost homes, lost relationships, and some even lost hope. On the flip side, we’ve learned that certain things we had prioritized really werent that important after all. We discovered that we are stronger than we ever thought we could be. We learned that we could endure much more than we ever thought we’d have to. We learned most importantly that it really is true that there are 3 things that last forever…faith, hope, and love. And the greatest of these really is love. Without love the greatest victory is worthless and the hardest fought fight really isnt worth the effort. Some people will misuse that love. Some people will reject that love. Some people will discard that love. But that’s on them. Love anyway. People who are mean…love them. They likely won’t return it, but you’ll be rewarded more than you can imagine. “Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;” There is blessing attached to that. Walking in love means walking from a place of victory. Love will be the wings that rises you above the winds of adversity and takes you to heights you could not achieve otherwise.
