A Different Mindset

We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.

Thoughts are powerful things.  Thoughts, if not properly guarded, will control what you say.  Jesus says “What you say flows from what is in your heart.” (Luke 6:45 NLT).  If you allow your thoughts to control your words.  In turn, your words will begin to influence and control your actions.  That’s why it is important to have a different mindset than everybody else.  If you have the same mindset as them, you will eventually act like they do.

You see it in the world today.  A lot of people think they can’t control what they think or how they feel.  It shows in their behavior.  They think that way, so they act that way.  It is crucial that you guard your thought life.  Only put life-building, God-honoring, spirit-lifting thoughts in there.  Let them sink in and permeate every part.  When you do this, watch what happens.  You will have full control of your thoughts instead of the other way around.

You will never fulfill your God-given purpose if you continue to let the devil and small-minded people dictate how you think.  You may be saying, ‘I control how I think.’  That’s true to an extent.  You control what you think by controlling what you expose your mind to.  Make no mistake.  If you are filling your mind with the thoughts and opinions of people that want less for you than God does, you truly aren’t directing your thought life, you are completely open to the influence of the those who would drag you down to less than who you are intended to be.
